Dear All,
I am commuting East Meadow Long Island to Downtown every day, It cost me 254 USD (Hicksville -- Atlantic terminal/Pen station) for the LIRR and 104 USD for Subway.
Any other way I can Travel to save dollar? As I am not Native American, Please excuse my English.
Can you get any subway from Jamaica that will take you close to where you want to go downtown ?
Pass to Jamaica will save you about $60 per month on LIRR. I guess the subway cost is unchanged.

The absolute cheapest way is to take the N22 bus to Jamaica, and then take the subway into Manhattan (you'll save the full $254 for the LIRR), but it will probably take too long.
You can also take the LIRR to Mineola, where you have the option of the N22 or N24, and then take the bus to Jamaica for the subway.
Or, as the other users said, you can take the LIRR to Jamaica, and then take the subway there.
I like the car poll idea and Looking for express bus, Time is another big factor. Thanks
Well in that case, if you're willing to drive to the Queens/Nassau border, there are express buses that go into Manhattan for $50 per week. The X64 would probably be the closest. Here's the Queens bus map: http://mta.info/nyct/maps/busqns.pdf
The problem is that the X64 doesn't go to Lower Manhattan (neither do the X63 or X68). You'd have to transfer to the subway (the good thing is that the pass lets you ride the subways and local buses for free)
I think taking the LIRR to Jamaica and then taking the subway to Lower Manhattan (the (J)(Z) are slightly faster than the (E)). You save about $60 per month.

Depending on where you are in East Meadow, it shouldn't take too much longer to take a train from Mineola, Hempstead, or Freeport. I'm not sure how much you'd save but its worth looking in to.

Freeport's in the same zone, so he wouldn't save anything.
Hempstead and Mineola are in Zone 4 rather than Zone 7, so he's be paying $223 per month rather than $254.
He said that time is an issue, but rather than pay extra to drive his car (and pay for parking), he could take the N46/N47/N48/N49, or N70/N71/N72 buses to the Hempstead Transit Center, depending on which part of East Meadow he lives in. The N24 also has some trips that serve the western part of East Meadow. His $104 subway pass will work on the buses as well.

I live in east meadow behind the Hemstade Turnpike Wall Mart. Is anyone going downtown? Probably we can share some cost.
Put a posting up on Craigs list.
There's a car pool section.
