Does the side east of the lake, south of portion and not too far north of the LIE (Brookhaven side) Experience any bad flight noise from the airport? Or any problems at all? Im talking about the blocks off of Hawkins and such. Anyone live around here that can help?

McArthur doesn't have a lot of flights coming and going. It's relatively a small airport. I live in ronkonkoma just north of the LIE by Richmond Blvd. You get the occasional plan noise, but it's nothing too bad.
The majority of the traffice seems to come from the southwest..over Connetquot State Park. If you eat in the diner there on the corner of vets and Lakeland, you can see how much plane traffic there is. It's nothing compared to Laguardia, but you never know what the future holds.
Also North East... mostly intersection of Patchogue holbrook and Union ave..... continue that line to the north of LIE into holtsville.....
If you are outside.... yes you cannot ignore the noise, inside the house you might be okay (basement even better !! )
As dman said.... dunno what future holds. We can add another 2 terminals to the airport I think.
hmm ok. Thanks all. I see a lot of cheap decent houses or sale on MLSLI off of hawkins north of LIE...the taxes are cheap. This area always seemed fine to me so I was just wondering if there was something catchy.

I had one client and a friend who each owned homes west of Hawkins, between Rosevale and the lake. Lots of water table issues in that area.
Water table meaning what? and all of the homes I was looking at were east of hawkins.
The ground water level is high. That's about all I know over that way.
