In these tough economic times, the PBA is trying to exempt itself from being part of the solution to Nassau's fiscal issues. Surely, there is room to assist the County - as PBA members earn six-figure salaries, receive free health insurance, work 3 days per week and get 61 paid days off a year. County Executive Mangano has been honest with the police force by seeking concessions. They should at least be honest with residents about his record of insuring public safety.
It is interesting seeing Mangano and the PBA fight each other considering Mangano gave the PBA a massive handout when he removed the cap on compensation.
Right, I'm sure the police wouldn't take any punitive action against anyone who shows up to counter protest. You have to be kidding me.
I agree. Why would these police be "nicer," "more understanding," or "more civilized" than how the NYPD has been treating the Wall St. protestors? Especially considering the idea of showing up not to protest an idea unrelated to cops (like protesting Wall St. greed) but showing up to directly protest the cops and the PBA?

Like the cameraman arrested while filming at a crime scene. Wasn't that on Long Island?
