Nice car!
I've always brought mine to Huntington Audi, on Jericho Tpk, just West of Melville Rd (or East of Rte 110). My experience with their service department has been excellent. Service Manager is Chuck Malone.

He may be hoping for an independent shop as the dealers tend to charge exorbitant prices. Only go to the stealer if you are under warranty. Unfortunately I don't know of any from experience but know there's a higher-end shop on Old Country Rd in Plainview across from the McDonalds, next to the Citgo.

There's another guy I bring my BMW to since he's recommended by a friend but I'm still under warranty so I just have him do cosmetic stuff like wheels. They are in the Gulf station at the corner of South Oyster Bay Rd. / Old Country Rd. across from the Burger King. Red Line I believe is their shop name... Sonny or Nas @ 822-3671

Ah, German cars. Gotta love forking over $750 to get a window fixed that isn't going up and down. Talk about a liability.

Looking for an independent shop for a BMW as well. Only have to pay for service 1 year out of 5, since it's included the rest of the time, but the dealers are a god damned ripoff.

Are you a Limousine Liberal? (Perhaps living in Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights, the Limousine Liberal capitals of NY?)

Don't you know BMW (esp. many USA dealerships in right to work states) abuses its workers? In Chicago, they spy on their employees' Facebook pages and use that to fire people unfairly.

BMW layoffs exemplify the evisceration of the middle class (maybe they stole that phrase from your posts!)

How could you drive one of those cars in good conscience?

Sadly, I am not impressed by this disclosure.

Please buy AMERICAN union-made cars in the future! ***no icon to wave flag but if we had one I'd use it right here***

PS: j/k, j/k ... they're lovely cars, just don't get me started on Volkswagen ... now they can't "engineer" an automobile electrical system for #^$@#$&!

The BEST, without a doubt (and where I've been taking my cars for years) is H&H European Auto Service on Merrick Road in Amityville. Harold runs the place and is genius with foreign cars - and definitely not a rip-off.

Sadly it's nearly impossible to live in modern society and entirely avoid products sold by companies with less than a spotless record. BMW, though, is certainly one of the better ones in the grand scheme of things.

Boycotting makes little difference anyway, systemic change has to come by operation of law.

My great Auto tech. told me he has layed off all his help due to high insurance costs, expensive test equip. and hassles with NY State inspection people. He will carry on as a one man shop and chose the work he will take on.He no longer wants to work on 10 year or older rusty cars. Its sad a sign of the times but I can't blame him having owned a small business in the past its just not worth the hassle.
