I know that Manhasset has a great commute to Manhattan, but I was wondering what's up with the hourly train schedule. I'm relocating from Babylon which has a train every half hour and I was curious if the Manhasset line was always hourly or if that was one of the casualties in the MTA's budget cuts. And if so, does anyone know if they would ever return to half hour service?
Yeah, they cut it back to hourly back on June 27th, 2010 (the same day they made a bunch of cuts here in NYC).
They say that some trains have standees, which is against their guidelines (but keep in mind that these are just guidelines and not some kind of law or anything), so it's possible, though not likely.
