I believe you are both correct. Something smells very fishy for sure.

HA !!! I predicted this last year. I said to friends and co-workers....."watch, just before election time, the price of gas will drop suddendly, and the unemployment rate will tick down a few thenths of a percent on the two jobs reports just before the election.....and Obama will take credit for both".

Wish I could have gone back in time and bet a million dolars on it.

Blame him when the price goes up, blame him when the price goes down. Talk about predictable.

Only problem is nothing has had a price drop except home values since this incompetent took office.

I wish they would just compile the UI figures directly from the State UI offices. But those numbers would take too long to crunch.

The Labor Department "UI Report" is taken from the Commerce Department's CPS report which is handled by the Census bureau. The same households are followed on a monthly basis for 18 month I think it is. I can't remember now.. it's been a number of years.

It is an extremely misleading report when it comes to UI figures. I don't think it ought to be used for UI.

Now, if folks would take the time to read the entire Labor Department report for September.. they'd be a bit better educated on all this number crunching.

And no, I don't see gas dropping 50 cents a gallon.. hell.. it just went up .05 this past week in my neighborhood!
