A MONTH? No stinkin way. My street is approx 1625 feet long. Took 5 months! From the first day they started drilling//digging until the last bit of asphalt was plunked down. They still haven't done anything about the driveway aprons they ruined.
It's July 14 and no ground has been broken. All that has been done to date is to flush the water lines/hydrants. We've had our water turn brown from all the rust. It has been terrible. I would be amazed if they actually start anything in July.

Our lines/hydrants do get flushed once a year.
I still have rust problems which I assume are coming from the storage tanks as all our mains have been replaced and I've had all the plumbing replaced in the house... and the connection to the main.
This was the first time that I can recall that the main/hydrants were flushed. When we bought the house we installed a new water line in from the street as the old one was very clogged. I can't imagine how bad the main must be -- it's ancient!

LOL.... stick around when they haul up the old pipe. You'll never drink water again!
Never did like SB water growing up. I'd put the teabag in the cup and immediately the water would turn dark dark brown like coffee. Yuck.
If you knew who I knew, you would change your tune. Step out of the conservative strongholds and onto Democratic turf. They have been taking care of their own. You've got to believe me on this one. One repaved street is home to one of Lesko's bigge$$t supporters.
Miller Place is home to John Rouse. It goes without saying that he would take care of his nabe first.
Christian Ave has been a complete mess for the past few years. The last bad winter we had really did a number on it. I've come to learn that the water main on Christian is scheduled for replacement this summer (still waiting to see that start as on 7/13) end result being a freshly repaved Christian Ave.
Couldn't agree more - Christian Ave and parts of Sheep Pasture really look worse than third-world country roads. Very hard to swallow the property taxes paid when looking at what you get in return. The school argument is a delusion.

They DID do a nice job on Lower Sheep, between Nichols and Old Town, though
But if you noticed, Upper Sheep Pasture, where SFR lives, was done prior to all this. Plenty of grousing ensued.
Whats with all that stupid at the bottom of Old town and lower Sheep where youre driving into oncoming traffic?
That is by far the worst traffic pattern I have seen anywhere since they closed the 347 9 way turn at Sunoco in PJS
