Have friend with sister and husband on Montauk--close to the Park--
what are residents being told to do?
Leave, hunker down?
They live in mobile home that is tied down...and she says their area is "higher" but we heard today on "Today" there could be 11 ft water fall coming in with storm surge...
What is local news saying?

Anyone in a mobile home needs to evacuate - even if it's tied down. Seriously.

Mobile home residents were ordered to evacuate all LI mobile parks yesterday morning. They should not still be there!

my thinking but they are not in mobile home park--
they own property of about about half acre or so and have been there for 20 yrs or so
my friend said they are staying
her sister works for the mayor of one of town in that area so she knows what the recommended policies are
but when people have stayed through other bad storms they sometimes feel they can manage anything...
I don't worry so much about the water surge as the damage from the trees/wind which will be pretty severe I think
the storm will make landfall south of them so maybe they think they are far enough away that danger is somewhat reduced...
