I planted kale, arugula, Boston lettuce, romaine and a few others. I've read that they are fine to plant now. They're in the ground now, so we'll see what happens.
Why do blueberry plants need to cross pollinate? I have them in pots now until I get my soil ready.

Same reason the human species does - a female and male can pro-create. Now try that with one of the same. One blueberry plant of the same variety will not produce vigorous fruits, if any by itself. This is blueberry 101. Unless the variety has been specifically genetically modified to self-pollinate.
