I was an early subscriber to Verizon Fios (2008). I realized the other day I still have the same modem as from 2008, and in computer years that is like a dinosaur...or is it? Should I trade this in for an upgrade?

Are you having issues with your web service at all? If not I wouldnt worry about it. If you are it wouldnt hurt to give them a call you can probably swap it by mail or at a fios store. I had issues with older optimum modem years ago and was able to get a newer one without a problem.

Run this link and see if you are getting the speed you are paying for on a wired (Ethernet) computer. (Wireless speed may be much slower)

I have mine since 2008 and it works just fine. We have multiple laptops, cell phones on wi-fi and the tv is on wi-fi sometimes (if we're streaming netflix). Never have issues. We upgraded internet speed and they didn't change the modem.

If you're running slow, check your pc or laptop.

I am also an early subscriber to FIOS and have my original router. I tried to upgrade my router at a Verizon store (Hempstead) and they wouldn't let me. Let me know if you have better luck.
