On the ranks of Hempstead and Wyandanch. Graduates (if they are lucky enough to graduate) generally become drug dealers and criminals. There's a shooting in the high school every week at least. Avoid it at all costs.

It is a very well regarded school district. Many buyers specifically look for it. Other good choices in the area are Elwood and Northport-East Northport.
Harborfields is widely considered to be among the best of the Suffolk County school districts - lately it has been rated at the very top (excluding CSH). Averages about 250 students per grade. Draws students from Centerport, Greenlawn, and Huntington (and maybe a handful from Northport, etc). Professionally run.
Half day Kindergarten. If you live south of Pulaski next year you have PM. Centerport is AM. Anything in between 25A and Pulaski is a gray zone so you don't know ahead of time whether you will be AM or PM.
If I may, I would recommend you call and ask for a tour of the school your child may be attending. This way you can do some serious assessing on your own. We are seriously considering a move to Huntington and I know some say that Harborfields is a better choice than Huntington schools. But consider this, a friend who is works in Special Ed at HH said after the shooting at Sandy Hook that she was so glad to go back to work where she knew all the faces and names. There was comfort in that it's not a particularly large school. Also, HH is more diverse. For me, this is something I'm looking for in a school district.
