Hello, all. I was hoping to get suggestions for off-premise caterers. We are throwing a first birthday party and are expecting about 50 people. We're not looking for anything fancy (a backyard BBQ or buffet style is fine). We're in southwest nassau.

Thanks in advance!

What town are you in? Valley Caterers in Franklin Square is very good and I believe they bring the grills to your house.

LI Bagel Café that has several locations, I believe, there is one in Merrick also has various BBQ packages, starting at $20 and they bring all the grilling equipment to your house, but you have to have a minimum of 50 people, I think. We have done many backyard parties with the size of the party you have here, 40-50 people and were also very pleased with La Bottega, also, several locations, just don't over-order, and be specific that you want them to bring the racks and the sternos to keep the food warm. I can send you the menu we had for this year's party where it was 45 people, roughly split 50/50 between adults and kids (ranging in ages from 3 to 15 with the group of 11 to 15 being prevalent), and no one left hungry. We had the same party size last year, I ordered way too much food so I scaled down this year and everyone loved it. For dessert, we have been doing it for the past 3 years, there is an artisanal ice cream shop in RVC, called Five Pennies Creamery, we would get quarts of assorted ice cream, again, a huge hit, but you will probably have the birthday cake for the 1 year old!

Sempre Fame Catering. I posted the link below. Tell them Matt Mastrorocco reccomended them. They are hands down the best BBQ catering place. Family run. Hard workers. Best food. Ask for John Cavallo.
