Catering ideas
I have to plan a work luncheon for about 15 ppl for under 250 dollars. I have come up with two ideas. One is Middle Eastern food and the other is Salsaritas. Anyone have any other ideas? I don't want to do the boring old pizza idea.
Thanks!

Middle Eastern - as in tabouli/tabouleh, couscous, kebabs, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, dates, etc? Sounds lovely to me. Baklava/Baklawa for dessert, along w/ coffee. Yum Yum. Just make sure the group likes this type of food. Some people do not have very developed taste buds, Hee Hee.

Me, too. We need to do lunch.
If you figure out where to get a good Middle Eastern spread . . . let us know . . . cause that would be a really neat City Data meet up - Middle Eastern lunch.

I'm going to suggest my favorite "new" place for GREAT catered food -
The Southern Gourmet on Monroe Rd. They are not new at all, but I've only recently discovered them. Honestly, the food is some of the best catered food I've ever had. Here is their number if you just want to check it out:
704/849-7646
They are primarily a catering company, but they do open for lunch and you can go in and sit down and eat if you wanted to get a first hand taste before deciding to use them for your luncheon.

Thanks LM, I'll check it out.
Ani: I go to Cedars which has really good middle eastern food. But it's more of a take out place. The sit down area is real ghetto.

Take out works! Thanks for the lead, Sheenie.
And LOVES - really appreciate the info on the caterer. I am not familiar w/ them, either, so now i have a new entry in my address book. Thank you for sharing!

Cardillo's Kitchen - Elm Lane
Try Cardillo's Kitchen 704-759-8182. They are really good catering at reasonable prices.
If you need desserts or a good cake, try Decadent Designs Bakery on Elm Lane also 704-542-7797. Their carrot cake is awesome. Coconut, pineapple, and walnuts in it. Their brownies and red velvet cupcakes are excellent; but their cakes are the best. Moist and great fillings. Little pricey but it's worth every mouthful.

How about Indian Food?
Try out the website bayleafcharlotte.com
They are purely a catering company. No restaurants. Made ala carte
