The only thing better about being next to RVC would be in comparison to some of Baldwin's other borderlines such as Hempstead, Freeport and Roosevelt.
Rockville Centre has a great walk-able downtown with many restaurants, lounges, and bars right next door to Baldwin. I think that's a big plus. Many Baldwin residents benefit from this without having to pay the high taxes and Mortgages.

You must be mistaken. There is no such influx.
Unfortunately, this is Long Island.....and school district is EVERYTHING.

Actually I am correct. If you don't live there than how would you know? And yes, the school district is everything. Besides the public schools (which perform adequately) there is also St. Christopher's school which is a fantastic learning environment.

I really don't understand why people bash Baldwin...I've been here for nearly 16 years, it's a great place to live.

Except for those whose children are already grown (adults) and therefore beyond the school years or who have never had and will never have children . . . both of for whom "school district" is a non-issue which doesn't concern them at all. If such described persons contemplate moving to Baldwin, they won't take "school district" concerns into any consideration.

Not only that, but I think the "school district" issue is exaggerated on here, any kid will get a good education in even the worst of Long Island schools if he/she does what he's supposed to.

That's not necessarily true especially if there are plenty of distractions in the classroom. The learning environment can be difficult if there are children constantly disrupting the class.
