I have a neighbor in a residential area on Long Island with guinea hens. They are noisy, loud and obnoxious and they are driving me crazy! Are these things illegal and can the town (Smithtown) do anything to make the owner get rid of them?

Unfortunately when a car, fox or racoon kills one, she gets a bunch more. Then they lay eggs and hatch even more!

No tolerance, people! The hens eat ticks and other bugs. Really, what harm are they doing? The only complaint I would have is that she allows them to be killed by cars and predators so it seems to me she is not a responsible owner. Unless they are messing up your precious landscaping, you should learn to enjoy them.

I wish they would reintroduce rattlesnakes, bears, bobcats, and coyotes to the island. The food chain would be a pimpin'
