Hicksville obviously. With its street meat (halal vendors), cuisine from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Iran it's a no-brainer.

Bigelows in RVC. Lucky Boy in Lawrence for the combination of really good, simple, food and utterly incongruous surroundings. The Dock in Montauk.

Flushing, Main Street.

How that place has changed! I used to get the bus there, in the late seventies. What a seedy, crappy place. Now it's full of all kinds of interesting restaurants.

How many times you thought about "What if I bought a piece of land in flushing back in 70s when it's dirt cheap?"
