So sorry this happened to you. There is some pretty amazing surveillance equipment out there these days. Hope they catch this guy! Have a friend or relative post the clearest pics/video you have on various LI Facebook groups & pages. There are many. The more you post the more it will be seen. Will send you a private message with name of one that can get the word out to thousands of LI'ers fast.
My neighbor has it on FB already and Islip community watch's FB page.
I remember watching a Dateline episode. A former thief turned security consultant stated that a thief will walk away 100% of the time if alarm notices are on property. I'd obtain several from your company.
Yes, those alarm signs help tremendously! When I lived in Florida thieves hit several homes on my block. Completely skipping mine & all the others that had signs! We did not even have it set-up & monitored even at the time! That sign helped us get very lucky!! The sign was just left by previous owner & I just left it there.
Scary. The way he's trying to break the door shows he can be very violent. It's not a small timid thief. Thank God you were not home. Maybe you should install an alarm at the door so that it will go off when some part of the door is broken.
The video does show the person's appearance, physique and walking manner pretty clearly, so hopefully he's recognized and caught soon. This was probably not his first crime. Wonder if the cameras from the homes where he passed by could provide more clues, like where he was heading to, if he had driven a car (if so, an image of the license plate would be great).
