I talked with a rep at a booth they had set up in the back of Costco. He said that the panels were not a lease, that we would pay 40-50% less than our current electric bill, that they guaranteed that thier installation wouldn't damage the roof or else they would repair it, and that we would get back 10% of the cost of the panels in Costco gift cards. He also looked at our roof on google maps and said we had the right orientation (we do have a southern exposure) and roof pitch. The next step is to have someone come over but I don't know if we're ready for that, we really don't know that much about solar.

So does anyone here have experience with Sunrun? I have to say that I see more and more panels these days.

The roof according to the realtor we bought the house from 2 years ago is around 10 years old. I think they called it "architectural shingle". The other houses in the neighborhood that still have original roofs have slate (it's a block of Tudors) and I think she said that they chose that type of shingle so that it wouldn't look too different from the original slate.

So has anyone had any experience with this company? A rep came over to the house and he was pleasant and not high pressure, the numbers looked reasonable but unfortunately this company seems to have quite a few bad reviews which I didn't see when I googled them at first.
