I'm not ready to move yet but I browse real estate listings to see how often a house comes on the market that I like. I don't want to buy a house that hasn't been updated since the 1950s. I really like this house:
I was going to say 450 for a cape in farmingdale!? Until I saw how many favorites it has on zillow and redfin. Bet you this home is under contract within 2 weeks. Take a look at recent sales to be sure.
It is what it is. We bought a split in Farmingdale 2 Years ago for $400,000. It's a nice house but Framingdale is as mediocre as it gets and I do not feel it was worth the cost. I wouldn't call Woodward parkway an award winning school and my kids go there. Again, it is a median school at best.
But, with all the upgrades, it looks nice and it will probably sell for at least 430,000. sell. Good luck.
I really like the house. $449,000 seems fair but if it needed work then I'd say $449,000 is high. If I were to bid on it I'd bid $425,000 and see what happens. If I were just buying a house now I don't think I could even afford $449,000. In 2003 I paid $249,900 and I thought that was a lot.
I've been on the zillow website before but I'm not sure what you mean by favorites. Can you elaborate? I see these line items listed under "FACTS":
Views since listing: 2,472
All time views: 2,517
41 shoppers saved this home
Is this what you mean or should I be looking elsewhere in the listing? Thanks.
That's what I mean. I think redfin calls it favorites. To me, it indicates a level of interest. As long as there are no surprises, it will sell for fairly close to ask.

I think it's priced well given the updates and lot size... but I'm not a realtor. Work with a buyer's agent to help you figure out an offer based on the comps.
