Anyone know of a place that does the defensive driving course in less than 8 hours?
I'm looking for a place in Nassau County. The previous two times I went I was able to find places that let you out early, but they no longer offer the course. Probably because they aren't supposed to be letting you out early!
You can do it online now through AAA, even for non-members...says 6 hrs...haven't trie dit out yet. I did it through AAA here in NJ 3 yrs ago and we got out a couple hours early as well
They can't let you out early because if someone from the state is auditing the instructor then they can lose their license to teach the class. Most instructors will try to move it along, work thru breaks, etc to get you out as early as possible. I know a State Farm agent in Franklin Square that does it and the guy tried to move things along, DM me if you want the info.
BUt if you want to breeze thru it you should probably try one of the online ones.
ETA - the course should only be 6 hours I think???
Online course - williamsandwilliams.net and follow the link. With the online course you have to complete it within 30 days. There are questions that have to be completed. It's not just sitting there for the 6 hours.
I remember taking one of these on a holiday weekend. No one wanted to be there including the instructor. We watched the film, answered some questions then after about 2 hours the instructor asked everyone if they wanted to go home. So, we were all very happy that day.
