i went to roosevelt raceway about 5 nights a week. harness racing is very easy to win if you have good money skills and dont mind favorites winning. i love it and consider myself a harness racing guru
I wish I had a picture, but I was surprised how long a very large sign directing motorists to Roosevelt Raceway that were in or near Roosevelt Mall stayed up. It was a rusty, old looking thing that remained intact years after the track closed. For a while I thought they were to keep it there as a historic monument or something, lol.
Back In the late 70's I went with some buddies and hit a trifecta for $1,200. Used the winnings to take a cruise and met my future wife. Found memories of RR.
When did it change over from a racetrack to a flea market?
I was born early 80's. I only remember the flea market.
