Hi there,

I'm looking to celebrate a special date with my wife on a weekend in November.

Could you recommend a nice town out east with cute bed & breakfasts and nice sites in general?

Thank you!

I would take a look at Greenport. There are plenty of B&B's and wineries out there. It is a very cute town!

"On"

Tons of places on the south fork.
Best to look from Southampton to Montauk.

East Marion is beautiful - but nothing going on there. Someone else said Greenport - I second that. There are restaurants, bars, beach, ferry to Shelter Island, and B&B's.

Stay away from East Wind in Wading River. Not clean, horribly worn mattresses, you'll check out in pain.

Thank you everyone!

I'm looking at greenport on google street view. To be honest I don't see much difference with cold spring harbor or towns like that, which is much closer to the nassau county (where we live).

Is that right?

Gurneys Inn Montauk looks really nice. $300 a night is ok, but it has 4 stars on their reviews in Google. For that money I kind of expect the best on LI. It's definitely a contender though.

In the hamptons, any town that is the "cutest"? My wife likes cute.

Hiking would be really nice too.

Much appreciated.

Gurneys isn't exactly a bed and breakfast either. It's a hotel. And while I like the atmosphere, it would not be considered "cute".

For a hotel that is a lot like a bed and breakfast, check out The American Hotel in Sag Harbor.

Also 1770 House or The Hunting Inn in East Hampton. Both are B and Bs and both have really good food.

Oh, and all three of those choices could be considered cute.

As far as towns go, East Hampton is very quaint. So is Amagansett, but there is more to do in East Hampton. Southampton is the largest of the towns, and while it is still very very nice, it is a little too big to be quaint. There are big chain stores in Southampton, which you wont find so much in the other towns.
