I believe that compensation for many levels of the "schools" is out of control and some form of limits should be applied. If they find they can't fill positions then make increases as needed as the market demands but don't give everything up front. Jericho make $438K and many others are close can you really say they are worth the money your paying? (ref: https://patch.com/new-york/portwashi...highest-lowest )

It's a waste.
Nothing will be controlled, or lowered or whatever.
Ever. Just gonna keep going up.
Otherwise the kids will suffer.
Greedy money grabbing skells.
Whatever.

Last week 98% of the Nassau-Suffolk school districts budgets passed, many by whopping margins. That is down slightly from last year's 100%.

Nassau/Suffolk school districts are over eleven straight years with a 90% passing rate (usually significantly higher). The last six years are with the tax cap.

In other school district-related news: The most recent USNWR high school rankings came out: https://www.usnews.com/education/bes...-york/rankings No surprises. Nassau was led by Jericho and Garden City (followed by the usual schools) while Suffolk was led by Cold Spring Harbor and Harborfields (followed by the usual schools).
