The nyc permit is only good on nyc streets . The requirements to get one are far less stringent than the nys permit which REQUIRES FAR MORE OF A DISABILITY TO GET and allows far more places where the permit is valid through out the state. the two are as different as oil and water ..handi cap lot parking cannot be done in nassau with a nyc street parking permit .

The op has little chance of doing anything with the nyc permit in nassau to get the fine reduced .

Unless things have changed, the NYC placard was much harder to get. Not only does your personal physician have to complete the forms, you also have to go to a designated city hospital and have their physician examine you. This placard allows you to park in a lot of "no parking' signs and also forego paying the meters. Its like a Platinum parking card.

I know a poor guy with one leg lost in war time. With the same scenario. The scumbags still gave the guy the ticket. Heartless bastards . This is so typical of all these wannabe cops in all these public safety town and village posistions. They have nothing better to do then give people with one leg 300 dollar fines.

He had to go to several court dates to get it dismissed.

If he didnt have a permit tag in the window or the license plate one, they are supposed to give the ticket, regardless. The guy would get one in a heartbeat if saw his doctor and got the form filled out.
