Does anyone know of good avenues I should try to promote Long Island Film Festivals.

Both from the local filmmaker side for submissions and entry calls, and getting locals to the specific area in to see the fest. Its a one day fest of short films in April.

I'm in several groups on Facebook and Meetup focusing on both local filmmakers and area social groups, as well as posting on Twitter and Instagram with pertinent hashtags. But I'm wondering what else is out there that I haven't tried yet.

Try finding connections at local colleges that have film schools.

Maybe see if you can contact these guys for ideas as they started out small and now have a really good film festival.

And don’t forget about local government and businesses. Sometimes you can find programs in both places that push the arts.

They just started a new mini indie film festival in Mastic Beach earlier this year. Mastic Beach is becoming the Bushwick of Long Island.

Stony Brook University just wrapped up its 24th annual film festival.

I would suggest trying any of the local colleges which have some sort of film-related courses.

There's the Long Beach one, the Glen Cove one and the big one in the Hamptons. Do we need another one?

Greenport has a film festival run by the Manhattan Film Institute.

There is also a TV pilot festival in the fall at the old theatre in Greenport.

Yeah but you don't want to go to any of these.
