Already a target in the mall. The just redid then exterior of that store in the last 2 years. My guess it becomes smaller stores mainly restaurants and activities such as escape room, a painting place etc.

Make it green space.
Big box brick & mortar are headed the way of the dinosaurs. Every time one of these places fold the buidlings should be demolished and the property cleaned up and returned to nature.

Eddie Lampert (owner of sears and in a separate company owner of that property) wants to have a huge complex development, but is going to run into a lot of opposition, between NIMBY and the downtown coalition who want a much smaller project, more friendly to commuters and young people.
