NY residents no longer allowed to enroll in trusted traveler programs due to green light law (Buffalo: crimes, DMV)

I don’t see any other option. How can the background check look for issues when NY won’t share the data?
The sad part is that this won’t really impact most of the NYC voters that support sanctuary cities but will hurt the border cities like Buffalo who are more likely to use a NEXUS card.

Yep exactly why. And totally true, only city people who it will impact downstate are frequent business travelers who will have to stand in line at customs with everybody else now.
Global entry has nothing to do with drivers licenses. This is just to mess with us
Blocking of access DMV records from CBP prevents them from doing a full background check on the global entry applicants. It has nothing to do with giving illegals licenses.
As far as the land border goes they can’t even check NY plates anymore so all NY vehicles must go through regular inspection now and rightly so.
10 years from now, when ny is completely overun by gangs, murderers, and rapist's, we will see all these idiots allowing a sanctuary state asking for help with all the crimes. It's unbelievable how dumb people are today.
Do these sanctuary policies actually impact how the DHS vets people for Trusted Traveler Programs? According to former ICE Director, John Sandweg, this should have no impact:
“This is just irrational in the sense that sanctuary policies in no way shape or form affect DHS’ ability to vet people for global entry and other trusted traveler programs. It’s ridiculous, and it’s politicizing a program that’s not about politics. It’s trying to match two totally unrelated things. It’s just ridiculous. It’s the kind of thing that’s going to, frankly, politicize the department in a way that’s going to undermine its mission moving forward.”

Lol! John Sandwig was a partisan hack who was very briefly “acting” director of ICE which has actually nothing to do with this issue at all(He was not and was never in charge of CBP). He ran ICE for less than 6 months. His appointment was contested because he had very little experience and had virtually no chance of being confirmed.
I wonder if this will actually take effect anytime soon. Once again CBP was not notified, only Tucker , and they are still processing global entry interviews. Once again no planning
