DH and I were talking about all the stores that our parents used to shop in when we were kids or just stores we rememberered. Many have been discussed already like:

A & S
Empire
Arnold Constable
Best and Company

Dh and I recall a mens shop we think "Town and Country" may have been part of the title. Anyone recall the name? Thanks.

I remember A &S in Hempstead but the other 3 stores might be before my time. I think there was a TSS in Hempstead at one time.

TSS was on Peninsula Blvd. I vaguely recall ads for a Town and Country Men's store. I think they sold men's suits like Karako's does today.

Edward Miller Town and Country. When it closed, the son opened up Thomas Miller Town and Country in Woodbury and later moved to Main St. in Huntington. Don't know if it's still there.
