Long time luker in the forum here, wife and I was looking to pull the trigger on a home in RVC. Do you all have any updates on the area? Is it still a highly desirable place to live? are people accepting/friendly there? Will property values continue to hold up or are town officials mismanaging things there? are the schools there still highly regarded as one of the best on the island? Would you say the average total taxes on homes in that area would run usually about 20k? We would love to hear any feedback you may have, thank you!
I lived in RVC for a period of 3 years, in the late 90's. I worked in NYC so the commute was great. I believe it is still a desired community for families. I am very friendly and helpful (or at least try to be) as evidenced by my participation in this forum. I will say I did find it friendly to a degree, but it was absolutely not without an attitude. I personally had a difficult time with those whose noses were in the air. Now, again it was a while ago, so people have changed.
Go south.
But anyway, RVC is fine. It’s a little uppity, but keep your grass cut and your kids on a pedestal and you’ll be fine.
