Company memo came out last week all employees must be vaccinated by end of July. If I don't take the vaccine does that mean I will get fired? Did any one in your company got any kind of letter like this?
vaccine is not even CDC approved why should I take this, I want to wait and take next year.
Some will say yes, some will say no. I don't think there is a definitive answer on this.
In NY, you can fire someone for no reason. As an employer, I have always fell back on that. "No reason" requires no explanation.
If you fire someone for cause, things can get tricky. Depending on the situation, you (as the employer) may have to defend that cause.
Is this vaccine a legitimate cause for termination? Maybe, maybe not. The question you have to ask is: are you willing to spend the time and effort in a legal action to find out?
As long as they don't violate the Americans with Disabilities Act they can require it. And yes, NY is an "at will" state and you can be fired for anything. But instead of asking us, why don't you try to work the company?
"as of now" my company is not requiring vaccines. We are all still working remote.
name the company, its time to start BOYCOTTING any company that requires a vaccination for their works or ask for "your papers please" when trying to enter.

Yes they can fire you. Make sure to document everything so that in case you have an adverse effect, you can file a workers' compensation claim.
