Hello, My lovely in-laws are moving from Canada (to which they immigrated from India 20 years ago) to NYC area. It would be nice for them to find a community that have a strong Indian presence so that they may enjoy NY from their perspective as a Canadian (like US) and Indian couple.
Which communities in Nassau or Queens would you recommend?
Thank you in advance!
Hicksville is probably the more affordable of the two options with more Indian stores as well. New Hyde Park is pricier (better schools), but also closer to Bellerose in Queens which is another major Indian neighborhood with even more Indian stores than Hicksville.
NHP along Hillside ave has a large Indian pop. However I'd try to get as far away from Queens as possible if you can afford to, so I'd lean toward Hicksville. Houses prob cheaper there anyway.
But even places like Baldwin are diverse enough that you’ll find a mix of everything plus Raagini Indian Restaurant in Baldwin has been voted one of the best restaurants on LI
