I'm surprised so many people support a third track being built between Bethpage and Babylon when there's only one track now. Wouldn't two be a better start? Or even electrification before that? The line could definitely use improvements, but I think adding a third rail to the Main Line would be a more pressing issue.

That's what this is, no? The proposed 3rd track is to Hicksville.
Residents are claiming there's no need for it, but with improved East Side access I think we will need more capacity on the main line.
Other thing I'd like to see is improvement of the line from Huntington to Port Jefferson (straighten, double track, electrify); locals keep shooting it down, though.

Sorry Nancy
My Bad...I didnt think the acronym was cursing.
Would you or any of the "No" votes care to weigh in on why you wouldnt support the third track?
Is it just a fear of urbanization thing? I dont get it.
We have all the density and none of the infrastrutcure.
I hate to say it but 60 miles from NYC in any direction aint the country anymore.
I cant see how this would be bad.
