i asked this question a bunch of times, as we almost got a home in that area (Amsterdam Ave, east of Belmont).

what i found out is that the area is pretty good, overall.
we drove around a lot, at different hours, and saw nothing to be overly concerned about.

We drove past the elementary school in the afternoon and saw a lot of generaly happy looking parents and kids. Talked to a few potential neighbors and got good reviews.

someone put in a higher offer than us so it fell through, i would've had no reservations.

still, would be good to hear some more first hand info.

Most of NB is pretty good. That particular area I can't vouch for. I have family all over NB and I used to live there. Not a bad town.

^^ Its equivalent to Levittown schools. NB schools are fine. Keep up on your child and be a active parent and everything will be a-ok.

If Levittown schools were on par with NB, I wouldn't send my future kids to the schools here. Can you show me some proof of this?

Yea, from what I know, Levittown>North Babylon in terms of schools.

You can see North Bablyon's ranking compared to the rest of Long Island schools. They placed 100th out of 115th. Not too good...
