I have 2 labs who love the water. Are there any place on the north shore near Wading river or abouts that we can take them?

If you go to the Town websites, the Recreation Departments list each beach and park, which ones allow dogs and at what times of day.

Good luck in your search.
Some years ago My wife and I were training a Newphie for water rescue. We Could not find any "public" lakes or saltwater beeches that allowed dogs. In suffolk county.

I think if you go to the the beach in Wading River they will let you walk your dogs down the beach are where there are no people swimming. I've done it and had no problem. You need a sticker but you can just show a bill and the address and as long as you a Wading River resident you are allowed in. $5 for the season.

Any NYS Parks near you? Check out New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation - Some of the parks may have specific pet restrictions, but all the info should be listed for each park on there.

I've seen dogs going in the water on the beach in bayport down by the gazeebo. I don't know if that's legal or not, but someone had 2 labs going in and out of the water back in May.
