I am interested in updating the fence I currently have. I am a first-time home owner and have done some research online. However, I always like to get feedback from other individuals as well.
What fence companies would you recommend in the Suffolk area?
I have seen debates about PVC vs. Wood. Which would you recommend based on your experience?
Lots of topics for PVC... some people don't like the way it looks, but it will stand the test of time. Personally I've had wood at my first place and the thing rotted so bad I had to replace a fallen section when selling which was a total waste of my time and effort. I love the way the white PVC gives the yard a clean and fresh feeling.
As for companies, I'm sure people will chime in but know that ServiceMagic.com can find you reputable companies as they're rated by customers too.
We actually re-did our fence around our whole yard back in 2010. We used sunrise fence. They were great, and did a great job. they have a website. we got pvc in front on each side of the house and then the rest of the yard with cedar. I just didn't want my whole yard surrounded by white. yes, pvc is easier in that you don't have to stain it, but you do have to power wash. If you stain the cedar it looks beautiful. we have only done 1 coat of stain so far, we are do for another one this summer to keep it looking nice.
so then i guess you're offering your services to the original poster?
Not a chance. You have a better shot at learning how to levitate than that happening.
