Looking to share a home at Cazador Dr. and 33rd Ave. with my wife and elderly parents. They like to walk the neighborhood but are old and frail and not sure about their safety. Love Verdugo Bar but there doesn't seem to be much right in that area. Any advice?

Here's a neighborhood profile for you. Looks like there is a decent amount of property crime there... but not a lot of violent crime. Primarily a latino working-class neighborhood per the demographics. Judging from the comments there seems to be some gentrification in that area as well.

I would be very careful about walking around in that neighborhood, especially at night. The higher you go the safer it is.
