Hello Forums, I am a recent college graduate with a lot of screen plays and scripts sitting around that I would like to see exposed to a professional audience. Where is the best resource in the NoHo area for me to get some exposure? Thank you very much

My advice would be to start entering screenwriting competitions, such as the Nicholl Fellowships and the Austin Film Festival Screenplay competition. If you advance to the finals, you will get the attention of agents and managers. If you don't, some competitions will give feedback, which will show you where you need to elevate your writing skills.

It's also important to start learning the business side of screenwriting. There are numerous workshops and conferences in the LA area such as the Screenwriting Expo you should be attending.

1) Check out this writer's panel. It's seriously awesome: Nerdist Writers Panel « Nerdist (go to one or more of them and/or listen to the podcast)
They give GREAT advice for aspiring TV/movie writers, and you can usually meet them afterwards. I met one after a panel and now we're acquaintancefriends.
2) Get hooked up with some actors, directors, & film people via Meetup and start making short films and post them on Youtube to get experience & gain an audience.

The two best pieces of advice I learned from the writer's panel is 1) Have about 100 ideas. Don't just focus on one "amazing" idea and sink all your time & money into it. And 2) Utilize Youtube.
