I typed "Los Angeles Row Houses" on google image search and this came up. It's actually in my neighborhood. They recently got built.

Not what I think of when I think "row house," but these are pretty cool. They're actually attached single family homes, not apartments. The homes were built to be eco-friendly and all have solar power: 23 Fabulous Single Family Solar Powered Homes in Atwater Village

I like the general concept, but way, way too much glass at ground-level for my liking.

Thought exactly the same thing. Seems like too much exposure for an urban/suburban setting. I would expect that much glass in a more remote setting, or at least privacy/reflective glass. I suppose some sort of blinds or shades could be used.
Otherwise very efficient sleek looking design.
