I've been working at the same organization for the past 5 years, however, I just relocated to their DC metro area office. In truth, I wish that I had received a transfer to the L.A. office (perhaps I can still manage to get the transfer after a year or so).

Would it be difficult for a single young woman to live a middle class lifestyle in Los Angeles, w/ a salary of 95k/year. Are the state taxes high in CA?

I just can't stop dreaming about California and the palm trees, because it's winter time here...

For some reason, I just can't stop dreaming about California and the palm trees, maybe it's because it's winter time here...
Taxes are high but 95k sounds like enough for a single person to live a fairly decent lifestyle here. Not going to be ultra-fancy but definitely don't have to live in "the hood" either.

Not much to dream about. A few palm trees here and there. But it's not as much glamour as you think. And that's a good thing. . Believe me.

To paraphrase George Carlin, they call it the California Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.....

Very true indeed, however, there's something about the laid-back nature that i find very enticing.

Some areas of the 500 square miles of "L.A." are more laid-back than others.

Don't let the cynics deter you. This place is dope! And $95k is more than enough, you'll have a great life here you big baller you!

Man, you go up and down back and forth on your love for this city...embrace it man, embrace it. Get out and enjoy it. Btw, there's more than a few palms trees here. LOL.

Probably hasn't been to South LA - that place is palm-tree city!
