Yep. They're great little cars. When looking for a long-lasting reliable car, stick with honda and toyota. since that falls in that falls in the toyota category, it's a perfectly great car for your needs.

Great. Now, any specifics? Good Toyota dealers that you or anyone else can recommend? Used or New? I'm willing to travel all over SoCal to get the perfect deal. Thanks in advance.

There's a Toyota dealer in Carson, off 223rd, between Wilmington and Avalon.

Check Edmunds.com and see the various options and i think Toyota has a website where you can build your own car options and get some Invoice and MSRP prices.

I drive a 07 Toyota Yaris Hatchback Auto. I love it, I get approx 30 mpg in city and approx 37 mpg on the highway. We got ours on a 5 yr loan, 7% interest. We put $1000 down and have a min payment of $240 a month. We went without most extras and got ours for 12,000 plus tax and fees. (we bought in ours at the end of 2006) We love the car. It has lots of spunk, drives 75mph up the grapevine with out struggling (though my wife and I aren't hugh people). The only down side i'd point out is that you really feel crosswinds more than some other cars and the blind spots from there rear beams are a tad large, If anything, I'd suggest going with the 4 door over the hatchback, mainly for convienence. Also, the Scion Xa is the same car, as the Toyota yaris hatchback, only with 4 doors instead of 2, and the Scion comes with auto windows and locks etc standard.
