I read the entire story before posting it, and yes, I know Jimmy "Los Angeles Is a Mexican City" Hahn got the same thing. However, it doesn't excuse Tony "Uhhh Uhhh Uhhh...Is This Thing On?" I thought the very same thing when I heard him say that.
After he said those words, he told the interview to go take up with police chief Beck. It seems like someone in the public eye would have had a canned response in case somebody called him on out on these perks. He could have said something like "All of the previous mayors have had this same perk..I didn't invent it."- that would have taken the reporter off the trail of the scent.
