Hello everyone,

I will be flying into L.A. on Aug. 7th at 10:25 am. I will be renting a car then heading to Palm Desert to visit my mother for the night of Aug 7th and 8th, then was planning on heading back into L.A. on Friday the 9th to see my daughter for two nights. I was hesitant to rent a car and was thinking of taking a shuttle etc. to avoid driving in traffic, However; everyone tells me its much better to rent a car and that it's not a hard drive. But, what I would like to know is what would be the best times for me to avoid traffic going in and out of L.A.? I know by the time we get our car on Wed the 7th ,it will be noon or a little bit later before we get on the road to Palm Desert, so I'm thinking we should be okay on missing major traffic at that time, but it's coming back in on Friday to L.A. that concerns me. What would be the best time for me to get on the road from Palm Desert to L.A. on that Friday? Your help is so appreciated, as this is going to be very nerve wracking for me driving around L.A. ugh!! :dubious

Anytime between 10AM-1PM and you should be fine on the drive from Palm Desert to LA on Friday.
