I used to live in NYC and I would go to Kat'z Deli all the time to get that huge pastrami sandwich.

Right now, I actually work across the street from Greenblatt's Deli which apparently is a Jewish deli. The pastrami sandwich there is the bomb. However, they never put enough pastrami on the sandwich, even when you ask for extra meat.

Anyways, I've heard Langer's is also great. But I ask you, which place do you prefer to get that big, juicy pastrami sandwich?

I'd be OK with something like this ...

I still haven't been to Langer's but I've even heard NYC people talk highly of it , which is rare!

I went to Katz, but I wasn't very impressed. It seemed like the pastrami was pretty fatty.

Oinkster in Eagle Rock has a very good pastrami , I don't remember the sandwiches being HUGE though.

Langer's is my preferred pastrami sandwich. What really puts it over the top above Kat'z IMO is the rye bread. The bread is incredible. If you like piled high with meat sandwiches though, you won't get that at Langer's. Brent's in Northridge serves up a good pastrami, piled high with meat.

Johnnie's in Culver City is good, but it is a different style pastrami. It's very thinly sliced and served on a french roll. Langer's is thick hand-cut Jewish style pastrami. The Hat or Johnny's in Mid-City also serve this type of pastrami.

The Oinkster in Eagle Rock serves up a hybrid of the two styles. The pastrami is delicious, but the bread roll is mediocre.
