Is zip code 91340 safe to raise a family? (San Fernando, Mission Hills: apartment, house)

Hello, I work in downtown LA and recently had a baby so we are looking at moving into a house from our tiny apartment. We found a house We like in the city of San Fernando and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for us. Is this safe area? We are an African American family and while I don't care about race I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb either and I just want a safe area for my family with no drugs or gangs. Any advice from those who know the area will very much be appreciated. Thank you.

That's a quiet area, in a past life I had an office in Mission Hills and would head over that way every once in a while. It's a good place to raise a family.

The only downside could be traffic if you need to commute to DT every day. Aside from that, go for it.

It's about 95% latino close to some pretty grimy areas. Can't say I'd recommend it. What is your budget? We might be able to direct you somewhere better.

You'll stick out since most are Latino there and it's not the safest area.
