Keeping it simple. Coming out to LA this weekend and I'm looking for a cute little picture to take with the girlfriend. I think the observatory closes at 10, correct me if I'm wrong. Is it safe to go there at that time? I'm not worried for myself, just don't want to take my girlfriend into a bad situation. Just want to get a picture at night with her and having the skyline in the background. Are there a lot of people around at that time? Any advice is appreciated. Sorry if this makes no sense, had a couple drinks tonight lol.

There is still a sizable crowd around late at night. I went on a Sat night. It is safe with security on the grounds and workers in the building. They kick you out at 10 sharp. It is difficult to take a good skyline night picture at night. It comes out dark or/and blurred. I recommend to go during daylight for pics, unless you know what you are doing.

You might want to consider the Getty instead. The "money shot" photo which you want you can get from the Dodger Stadium parking lot. But go there during the day and not a night.

I wouldn't go to the observatory at night. Years ago a cyborg said, "Your clothes -- give them to me.", and then punched Bill Paxton so hard he died.

You can't go to The Getty at night. Closes at 530 most nights.

I'm not suggesting the OP go at night anywhere. Just like no one should walk Central Park after dark, El A is no different.

Is it just your goal to make ridiculous statements in every post?
