Anybody notice that? Instead of

$2.50
$2.60
$2.70

Now it's like

$2.50
$2.63
$2.76

Step outside your bubble and then see if this question isn't a little bit asinine. In most places, things aren't nice and evenly spaced out.

Also, since when do gas prices in L.A. end in a zero?

They were a dime apart for decades, there is nothing asinine about this. Shame on you.

Did a disapproving finger wave accompany that last statement?

Back in the day, the difference was 10 cents. $1.00, $1.10, $1.20. So premium was 20% higher than regular. Kinda makes sense to charge more for premium since regular is now pushing $3 a gallon. I've seen some stations having a 40 cent difference between regular and premium. It only matters if you have to run premium.

Gas prices have been this way for decades (spaced .10 apart). Your response is asisnine. Step outside your bubble. You might actually learn something.

W-w-wait... Did you just accuse me of living inside a bubble because I dared to express an opinion (rooted in fact, no less) that went against a long-standing tradition? Pot, meet Kettle, enjoy the delicious ironing.

If you stepped outside your perfectly spaced bubble, you would, in fact, notice that gas prices across the country (since, you know, you're out of the bubble and are allowed to travel outside of California) are not only spaced in weird, mysterious and magical ways, but are also sometimes based on the method of payment you use (it didn't use to be this way in most of L.A., but my recent visits suggest it's catching up with the rest of the States).

Damn, you've got us beat. $2.22 with Kroger points was the best I could find in SE MI yesterday.
