Studio City, Burbank or East Hollywood/Los Feliz, Hollywood Hills or Sunset Strip (depending on your budget) would be great places to live for a rock musician since most of the clubs you'll play will be along Sunset or in Hollywood. Actually Eagle Rock might not be bad but not near Dodger Stadium. Eagle Rock area is kind of hit and miss try to stay near Trader Joe's and you should be good.
