I'll be staying around Sunset & Santa Monica Blvd next month. Looking for some good places in that general area (so we can walk) that provide good food & good drinking atmosphere.

If their is a place that is great for food but weak on the drinking atmosphere that is fine. Just looking for either or a combination of both.

Also, from that area where Sunset connects to Santa Monica Blvd. Is it ideal to walk to the Silver Lake reservoir? My girl & I are both in shape and were looking to go jogging at the reservoir so thinking maybe we could run/walk to there and back? Looks to be about just over a mile which is ideal but not sure about the safety of running there.

Thanks

Hyperion Public is a solid gastropub about a mile away from Sunset junction. I'd also recommend Kettle Black which is a more modern, upscale joint.

You could certainly walk to the reservoir but it will probably take around 30 minutes and is mostly uphill depending on the route you take. Probably easier to take a quick drive there.

Appreciate the info on the uphill. That is the kind of info I was looking for!
