I was southbound on the 405 from West L.A. to Torrance, when I encountered heavy braking and a high volume of cars erratically veering to the left side of the freeway -- saw several cars almost get into accidents, mine included. Turns out a mentally deranged homeless cretin was wandering around several right side lanes. A single CHP motorcycle officer was just getting on scene and possibly causing the homeless guy to get even more outrageous in his behavior.

So tell me, homeless advocates, if somebody had gotten killed this morning because of this incident, is it still okay to have all these mentally deranged freaks wandering about and engaging in their typical anti-social behavior? Why do the rights of these people trump those of us who obey the law? Are the lives of these mentally deranged anti-social lunatics more important than ours?

Thank goodness that the 405 is patrolled by the CHP and not the LAPD, otherwise he would have been let free to do his thing

The stupid arguments I hear over and over are that they're mentally ill and deserve some compassion, or they're addicted to drugs and it's not their fault because addiction is a disease.

Many are disabled veterans who served in the military and are now being kicked in the n*ts by society after all the good they've done.

If there were more shelters they wouldn't be such a nuisance because they just need a little help and homelessness can happen to anyone.

If I left any out lemme know....

I suspect the CHP is fairly lax on this sort of thing as well, since arresting the homeless guy doesn't generate revenue for the state, like they tried to do by issuing me a ticket a few years ago for rolling through a stop at the bottom of a hill at 1 mph. And then those no-seatbelt tickets, which I didn't fight and had to pay.

I'm so sick of these homeless people. Our city is under siege by these people and our leaders don't want to do anything about it, even if it endangers our lives.

Maybe you can just start some legislation to get a concentration camp set up and we can make you world ****ing perfect. Better yet you people in your cars can make it open season on them if they're caught on the highway. Don't come to me for the damage to your cars either. As a matter of fact you can pay for the concentration camp too while your at it.

Such fine people in this society.

Stop wandering around on the freeway, Scrat.

That's all great but there is no reason for them to all be in the high cost of living over crowded metro areas of LA. Build a shelter out in the desert far away from the rest of us and round them all up and drop them off. Maybe drop them over the boarder in an exchange program with Mexico. For every illegal that comes over here we send one crazy homeless person back the other way. They don't own homes, they don't have jobs, they don't contribute to society and whatever they are doing they can do somewhere else

Not as lax as the LAPD.

The LAPD went from a thug department to a hippie department, while only being an effective department when there was an outsider in charge.

Slab City might not be a bad idea for these people.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that in a diseased society there are no positive contributors.
