LAers, I've been looking for a safer place with reasonable commune (ideally within 40mins OR 20 miles)for both me and my brother (I work in Alhambra and he works at LAX).

When I look at the map, Downey seems to be the best bet, but the traffic on 105 is so bad it's going to take over an hour to get to El Segundo regardless.

For those who are familiar with LA and how the traffic works.... do you have other recommendations? I personally like Cerritos but it may be too far... sigh...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Someone will have to suck it up and have a crappy drive.

Can one of you start at 7 or earlier?

So your brother can take Imperial instead of the 105. There are other west-east streets that will work as well. There's also Manchester/Firestone, El Segundo Blvd, etc.

You can take Imperial to Atlantic to get to Alhambra as a substitute for the 710 if you move to Downey or South Gate. There are other towns not far off as well.

Or Google Maps can help too.

Options, options, options. It won't be perfect, but you should be able to manage.
